thriving business. Putting back in to the community is a means to switch off
work and go out and meet the community socially.
Within our industry the countrywide Estate Agency Foundation exists and David Jordan Estate Agents would like to share
with you some of the great charity work it does.
So
what is the Estate Agency Foundation (EAF)?
The Estate Agency Foundation (EAF) is dedicated to helping eliminate the
causes of homelessness in the UK.
The EAF seeks to bring together all of the Estate Agency industry to
contribute to a major issues communities face in the UK.
It raises funds through fund raising activities and events and these
funds are distributed to established and recognised charities who work in these
fields.
Just
the ticket
In 2012 the EAF supported Shelter, Broadway and St. Mungos. Their target was £150,000.
EAF fundraising has recently contributed to Shelter’s advice helpline- this
vital service is for those in urgent housing need and is staffed by trained
housing advisors. Last year alone they answered around 46,000 calls and this
was only 40% of all call that tried to reach them.
The Emmaus project –with a grant from the Estate Agency Foundation has
helped Emmaus Companions complete vocational training and help to get a fresh
start in life.
In 2012 a 32 day round the UK cycle event was held in aid of the Estate
Agency Foundation and was sponsored by Zoopla.

what does 2013 hold?
Key charities for 2013 are:
- Centre Point;
- HOPE4;
- Thames Reach;
- Doncaster Housing for
Young People; and
- Trinity Winchester.
The Estate Agency Foundation has an ambitious target of £250,000 for
2013 and always looks forward to welcoming new ambassadors.
